Two helpful online resources for voters are: Project Vote Smart and Smart Voter.
Additionally, our own Sierra Madre Public Library has materials to inform voters:
To help voters make informed decisions before the election on November 7, the Sierra Madre Public Library offers free, easy-to-use, non-partisan voting guides: the Easy Voter Guide for the California election and The Voter’s Self Defense Manual, 2006 covering national issues.
For Californians, who will be choosing representatives for national, state and local government and deciding on 13 propositions, the Easy Voter Guide provides succinct information on candidates and propositions. The Voter’s Self Defense Manual supplies information on the voting records of U.S. Senators and Representatives along with their issue positions and campaign finance information.
Also available at the Library is a cassette version of the California Voter Information Guide, the printed guide sent to all registered voters in the state.
The Sierra Madre Public Library is located at 440 West Sierra Madre Boulevard. For further information on services and programs please use the Library’s web site at www.sierramadre.lib.ca.us or call the Library at (626) 355-7186.
