The following is the contents of a press release from Chief Diaz of the Sierra Madre Police Department:
On Friday, December 1st at 5:28 p.m., Sierra Madre police officers and fire department personnel responded to a call of an assault victim in the 100 block of S. Hermosa Ave. When officers arrived, they found a 17 year old male victim with multiple wounds.
The incident occurred after several suspects confronted the victim and his friends at Memorial Park. The suspects attacked the victim, then ran to two nearby vehicles and got inside. The vehicles were last seen going westbound on Mariposa Ave. The Sierra Madre Fire Department rescue ambulance took the victim to a hospital for treatment.
Arcadia and Pasadena officers responded to assist with the scene management. Pasadena and Sierra Madre PD detectives are jointly investigating the case. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to call Pasadena PD at (626) 744-4620.
