Sierra Madre Centennial Celebration opens in style
“This is a community that is blessed with many treasures,” said Council Member Enid Joffe at the beginning of last Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Even before the Centennial Opening began, the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association and various members of the Sierra Madre Fire Department were recognized, offering examples of Joffe’s statement.
Then, the Centennial kick-off started with a variety of presentations from local and state government representatives.
Judy Webb-Martin and Toni Buckner, Centennial Committee co-chairs (click here for a list of all the Centennial Committee key players), appeared in period costume, and Sierra Madre’s Boy Scouts brought on the colors, including Sierra Madre’s new flag.
