The City is hiring paramedics. The following is the press release with information about the openings and about a Paramedic Job Fair on Sunday, February 25 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Last summer the Sierra Madre City Council authorized the implementation of the NEW Sierra Madre Paramedic Program to provide advanced life support to the City of Sierra Madre. The paramedics will be maintaining the City’s two ambulances, all EMS equipment and responding to emergency medical calls throughout the community. Along with City’s Sierra Madre Volunteer Firefighters, two paramedics will be on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 a year to assist Sierra Madreans with their emergencies. Last year the Volunteer Department responded to over 700 service calls.
Sunday, February 25 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Community Center (611 East Sierra Madre Blvd.) the City will host a PARAMEDIC JOB FAIR, in its recruitment efforts to hire the initial 30 paramedics to get this program fully staffed. These are part-time positions, under 940 hours a year, have two shifts a day with shifts 0700 to 0700 Monday – Sunday. Pay range is $9.00 to $10.94 an hour. Gain experience as a paid paramedic with an opportunity to train as a Firefighter 1.
