Centennial Gala: The lighter side of Sierra Madre

Posted on Sunday 25 February 2007

The Centennial Opening Night Gala was lively and colorful. Music, period costumes and a video of historic images all set the scene for a festive evening.

Part of the Mayor’s comments from the souvenir program:

“Much like a hike up the historic Mount Wilson Trail, our journey into Sierra Madre’s next century will require a strong heart and hard work. Like the trail, our path will not be exactly the same as it was 100 years ago. But rather than seeing the future with fear for a daunting task, we should, as our City’s founders did, welcome the challenge of preserving our hometown.

Tonight and throughout our Centennial year, we celebrate our small town character and the spirit of volunteerism that has built Sierra Madre.”
