This year for the first time, kids will have the special opportunity to run alongside the Mt. Wilson Trail runners as they head toward the finish line.
The Community Services Commission, as a part of its Healthy Family Fun program, will host the Kids Fun Run. Young runners will run up and back along Baldwin Avenue and will finish at the same line as the Trail Runners. All runners will receive a ribbon.
Additionally, the Community Services Commission is hosting the first Mount Wilson Trail Race Art Show to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Trail Race. Young Sierra Madre artists have contributed about 200 entries for viewing in Kersting Court during the Pre-Race Pasta Feed on Friday evening and during the race the following morning.
