An announcement from City Council Member Joe Mosca:

Together with the City of Sierra Madre, I am organizing a Transportation Forum that will be held at City Hall on Saturday, August 26th from 10 a.m. to Noon.

The Forum will focus on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s proposal to cut bus service in Sierra Madre (lines 268 and 487) and the long term public transportation needs of our community.

We have confirmed that Mr. Hillmer from MTA and some additional staff from MTA will be present to answer questions and receive information.

We have also confirmed that the company our City retained to help us develop a Transit Master Plan will send a representative to the Forum to answer questions and receive information.

City staff will be present to answer questions and receive information.

We are working on having the Forum televised for those Sierra Madreans who will not be able to attend.

We are also working on extending the Dial-A-Ride service on the day of the Forum so that everyone that wants to attend can attend.

Please pass on the word to as many people as possible. This is an opportunity for all Sierra Madreans to have their questions answered and thoughts heard by those responsible for transportation policy in our community.
